Are you passionate about social media and eager to gain real-world experience in digital content creation? The Office of Marketing and Communications at Carthage College seeks a digital content intern. In this role, you will help shape Carthage’s online presence by creating engaging content that captures the vibrant spirit of our community.
Position Details:
Hours — 10-20 hours per week
Schedule — Intern schedules are flexible and can be worked around your classes and other obligations! You’ll work with your supervisor to create a schedule for the semester. Hours usually occur within the Office of Marketing and Communications’ business hours, with occasional evenings and weekends to cover campus events.
Interns are expected to work in person.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop engaging and interactive social media posts that resonate with target audiences.
Attend campus events throughout the semester to capture engaging photo and video content for social media.
Capture high-quality photo and video content that highlights Carthage College.
Independently film, edit, and produce TikTok videos and other short-form content.
Assist in strategic planning for social media initiatives.
Brainstorm and research social media trends, competitor activities, and industry best practices.
Support additional social media projects as assigned.
Skills Required:
Proven experience with TikTok, including independent filming, editing, and content creation.
Familiarity with multiple social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
Dependable team member who maintains a positive work ethic.
Ability to work in an environment that values constructive, frequent feedback and requires a proactive willingness to implement revisions and make necessary changes.
Capacity to follow directions accurately and maintain high-quality standards in all tasks.
Up-to-date knowledge of current social media trends and digital engagement strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
